hello world
so it's been awhile. i've been very busy. i'm actually producing some new joints so i'ma let you in on the future lol.
Prophecy's Second Mixtape - Prophecy has made it clear he wants to wait til late spring/early summer to release his debut album. So we're going to rock another mixtape. Doesn't mean I can't sneak a couple beats in there for you cheap tricks.
Kyd's Return to the Mixtape Scene - Eyerishkyd has not released a solo mixtape Summer 2005. So a 3 and 1/2 years is enough. The plan is to put it out in February or March hopefully. We'll see how everything works out since he doesn't have much access to studio equipment since he's moved back.
Tre's fucking third mixtape in six months - Yes, I'm releasing another mixtape. I'm sorry. I can't stop making GOOD music. The plan right now is to release it January 20th. It's fitting to pop off real quick lol. I plan on promoting the fourth & fifth singles of T.O.T.2 on that effort.
T.O.T.3 coming in 7 months - Yes, I have plans as of now to release the third effort in the trilogy on May 23rd, 2009. I'll know for sure around mid-February if I'm going to make release date. I'll probably put out the fourth and final mixtape for awhile in early April. The single will hit the net in March though.
Last but not least, the third single for T.O.T.2 is going online on Thanksgiving. "Drippin' Wet" is produced by J.Mack of The Machine and has been the most requested song off the album. Speaking of that, I'm running low on copies with covers. I'm going to make some more early next month so hopefully half of the copies (cds in cases) will be sold by then. That'd be a good thing to celebrate on New Years. I just sold a couple copies today. I haven't put them in stores yet. I'm probably going to after I order more covers. I just don't got enough time to get around.

"In the streets of peepin' game, I can't trust you no, no
All up in my business mayne, I stay on the low low
Say they really, really fake, can't mess with you no more
Closest people to you hate so I be rollin' solo
Creepin' on the low low, I be ridin solo"
Chamillionaire is back and it's an amazing thing. I'm sorry to everyone but his mixtapes are trash. His albums are fucking past amazing. It's the truth. Can't wait to hear the album.
P.S. 808s & Heartbreak is a true fucking hit. I've heard 9 of 12 records off it and it's all pretty good.
T.O.T.3 -- May 1st.

Now It's On
I figured I'd go over a bunch of different topics in one blog so I don't write too long.
- I do know some of the songs end up only playing 30 seconds...I don't know how to fix that. I already looked into it.
- The album is finally out...So hit me up on MySpace if you want a copy. I'll upload the dot com probably Tuesday night with the PayPal info and the website listed in the booklet. I'm already out of 2/3rd's of the copies I put together. So that's an amazing sign. So looks like I need to go get more covers printed.
- The show was nuts. Best show yet. While the Iowa Money CD Release Party had more people...this show was a lot more fun. I really didn't expect the reaction I got for my set. I also didn't really expect to remember the lyrics for my songs. It was a perfect experience...Very much needed. But wait til I perform some more songs off the album. I'm a sick individual. Lol.
- I'm going back thru Iowa Money since I was to the point where I heard the songs so much I couldn't stand hearing em. So far, it's cool. The Truth is mad sick. Party 2Nite is cool. Not very great. Talkin Bout was so-so. Ballers was cool. Rockstar had so much potential if it would've came out in the first batch of Rockstar tracks lol. My verse is straight fire. Basically, hit me up if you want a copy. You can PayPal it or I can direct you where you can pick it up.

Trilogies Of Tragedies [BOOK 2]: Part Four
Now was the last month or so of recording. I came up with a couple songs just in a row like wildfire. "Dig", "Four Walls" and "Thank You" were I believe written in the same 3 or 4 days. I wrote a couple other songs that didn't make the album in that time range, namely, "Love-Hate" and "Last Words". But the one I wrote that stood out the most was a song called "Without You". I'm not saying it stood out because it was the best, because all of them can make arguments about being the better song. Good ones at that.
The reason why it stood out was because there was no rapping on the song what so ever. I think since I started "The City of Angels", I've tried to make a song where there was no rapping that was good enough for one of my albums. But at the same time, I didn't want to stray too far from my type of music. Cause then it wouldn't fit the scheme of the album. This song was actually influenced by another Xerost8 artist.
Thrilla had just put up a song on his MySpace. "Last Night" to be exact. And well, I sat here thinking why didn't I just make a song like that. Cause every time I tried, it ended up too rock-ish. I never tried to make a simple R&B track. And well, I think Thrilla's is hot as a forest fire. But I was proud of mine in the sense, I didn't just rip his off or anything. Eventhough, the argument can be made. So once I was threw with that, I had to just make finishing touches on the album.
I almost didn't have the features ready in time. Hitta recorded his on Oct. 11th since he was in town from our concert. I ended up scratching a couple ideas and going back to "Loveisdead" with Prophecy and then Kyd asked me if I had a record him and Thrilla could rock on. Well I had made a remix beat for "One Hit Wonder" and well it was flames. They wrote to the beat before I even touched it. Hitta recorded his verse on the 11th. Proph came over the next week and laid down his three verses on the album.
Thrilla almost didn't get his tracks on the album. Same with T.R.A. & JC Money. But they got their verses to me two days before the final deadline. I worked with Thrilla and pushed it back a couple hours cause I trusted him. And he came through with some hot verses. So the album was done on October 21st, 2008. So I sent the album in the following morning. I've noticed two things I missed in the album...So I guess it wasn't mastered to perfection.
But anyways, this album is still not all of me. If I would've took the rest of the year, who knows how much better the album would've been. I think I stopped at the right time though. It's a really good album. And you can say...well yeah you made it. of course you think that. I'ma let you in on something. I can't listen to our CDs after we make them. I'm so sick of them from mixing them that I can't stand em. I haven't listened to Iowa Money in a month or so besides the songs we've performed.
But this time around, I get goosebumps from like 9 songs. Usually, there's one song, maybe two on my CDs that give me goosebumps...But 9 songs....that's almost half the album. I just completely took the time to make some really amazing songs. But I guess it's not for me to judge. It's up to you. The fans. The specatators. The haters. You can let me know if I went above my normal expectations. I can honestly say I think this is easily the best Xerost8 album ever. No offense to Kyd. I came out of my head for this one. I might not be as lyrical as Hitta or Proph. I might not have the swagger Thrilla does. But I can make songs like a motherfucker. Try me.

helloooweeen

So I, being the type to not want to dress as someone people know, dressed up as Bert Wysocki from the CW TV Show, Reaper. Yep. Nobody knew who I was til I posted this image.
Anyways....Moving on. We wrapped on what will be known as my first movie appearance. Lol. It's a small budget flick called "Hotboxin'". Yours truly plays a dumb-to-the-truth kid named Chase. It should be a funny but short flick. From what I hear, it's going to be around 27 minutes. Maybe a couple more. It's just the start. I'm actually writing a short script for the second installment of this Beyond Broke/Xerost8 bond. It's titled, "The Thing Is..." and I wanna say it's The Odd Couple meets Judd Apatow. Plans are for the script to be set in stone by the end of the year. And hopefully we'll film it and put it out by Summer. I think Hotboxin should be out around Christmas. Don't quote me on that. Lol. I know we'll probably put out an EP for the soundtrack. I'll give you details when I get them.
So, I should be recieving the T.O.T.2 CDs tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to print the covers Tuesday. It should be a busy week, learning the set and putting everything together. I am putting up another song off the album on Tuesday. For those that don't know, "Walkin' Wit Angels" is on my MySpace but will come down Tuesday. I believe I'm putting up a little ditty entitled, "MJ23 featuring Eyerishkyd" and then I'll probably put up one last one on the 11th. Scratch that, I'm gonna have four or five songs off the album on my page just to promote it. So I'll still replace "Walkin' Wit Angels" but Friday, I'll just put up another song.
